Pinion/Clutch Check
1. Inspect pinion
teeth.

if teeth are worn or damaged. (Also

condition of ring gear
teeth.)
2. Check to see if pinion
locks in one
direction and rotates
smoothly in
the opposite
direction.

at the noncon-
ductive section ol lhe sensor's rotarv
unit.

headlamps

terminals will
lhen be positioned
at the noncon-
ductive seclion, disconnecting the power
tothe motor.
The
motor lhen slops.
Aiming switch "1"

o When
the aiming switch is moved from "1"
to "0",
power
ts
applied to the motor through
the relay
operated by the
conductive section of the
sensor. The
motor
will rotate to
move the headlamps in
the "UP"
direction.
o When
the rotary
unit of the sensor moves from point
B to
point A, the motor
will
stop.
