Try to have a GM dealer or a professional towing service tow your
Cadillac. The usual towing equipment
is a sling-type, or a wheel-lift, or
car carrier tow truck.
If your vehicle has been changed or modified since it was factory-new by
adding aftermarket items like fog lamps, aero skirting,
or special tires and
wheels, these instructions and illustrations may not be correct.

When your vehicle is being towed, have the ignition key off. The steering
wheel should be clamped in a straight-ahead position, with a clamping
device designed for towing service.
Do not use the vehicle's steering
column lock for this. The transmission should be in Neutral and the
parking brake released.
Don't have your vehicle towed on the rear wheels, unless you must.
If the
vehicle must be towed on the rear wheels, don't go more than
35 mph (56
krn/h) or farther than 50 miles (80 km) or your transmission will be
damaged. If these limits must be exceeded, then the rear wheels have to
be supported on a dolly.

If the flat tire is at the rear wheel, you have to remove the fender skirt
first.

skirt, locate

fender skirt. Push the

into the small slot on

each of the wheels. Fit
the lift head into the
hole nearest the wheel
with the flat tire,
A CAUTION:
Getting under a vehicle when it is jacked up is dangerous. If the
vehicle slips
off the jack, you could be badly injured or killed.
Never get under
a vehicle when it is supported only be a jack.

vehicle far enough off the ground so there is enough room for the spare
tire to fit.
Remove the wheel nuts and take off the flat tire.

A CAUTION:
Rust or dirt on the wheel, or on the parts to which it is fastened,
can make the wheel nuts become loose after
a time. The wheel
could come
off and cause an accident. When you change a wheel,
remove any rust or dirt from the places where the wheel
attaches to the vehicle. In an emergency, you can use
a cloth or a
paper towel to do this; but be sure to use a scraper or wire
brush later, if you need to, to get all the rust or dirt
off.
