U-10. FRESH AIR HEATER AND
DEFROSTER

Air
circulation of the
heater
and
defroster
unit
is
accomplished
by the use of a
12-volt,
two-speed
fan
motor.
Outside
air may be drawn
through
the
vehicle
fresh air
intake
shroud
into
the fan and
blown
out
across
the
heater
core
where
it is
heated
by the
hot circulating
coolant
from the
engine.
The
heated
air
then
enters
the transition
duct.
From the transi
tion
duct
the
heated
air
passes
into
the
heat
distri
butor
where
it is
distributed
to the
defroster
nozzle
and/or
floor
diffuser.
The
heater
and
defroster
controls
are
mounted
in the
control
panel
on the
instrument
panel. A
three-position
switch
mounted
in the
control
panel
operates
the
heater
fan.
